Steaking Out At The Steakhouse

The Steakhouse in Disney Village is one of my favourite table service restaurants on Disney Property and here are my reasons why…

The relaxing 1950’s Chicago  atmosphere in The Steakhouse is perfect after a long day in the Parks. The restaurant manages to retain it’s Disney magic whilst providing a sophisticated dining experience for Guests. Our last visit coincided with the Christmas season which added to the wonderful atmosphere and theming of the restaurant.

Did you know: The restaurant is themed on a Chicago meatpacking warehouse that has been turned into a “high-class joint”; Chicago style!

Both occasions we have dined here the service has been very good; especially compared to some restaurants across the parks. The Cast Members professional manner and language skills resulted in an excellent experience.

Quality Of Food

The quality of food here is very good. There are a numerous options but if you are on a dining plan you will receive a set menu to chose from. When we last dined here we were not on a Dining Plan and were free to order whatever we liked. Opting for a Main and a Dessert, we ordered the New York Strip Steak which was  juicy, flavoursome and cooked to order.

For Pudding, we ordered The New York Cheesecake which was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever tasted. The menu is fairly pricey so it is a good idea to budget your meals in with the cost of your holiday if you are not using the Disney Dining Plan.

The restaurant is located in the back corner of Disney Village next to Starbucks. Despite it not being a restaurant in the Disney Parks, it’s location is on your way back (if walking) to the Disney Hotels. This is convinient if you wanted to combine eating a late lunch or early dinner with a rest at your hotel before spending your evening immersed in the heart of the magic. You will need to make a reservation if you want to eat at peak times. However, if you want an even more peaceful dining experience, dine between 4-5.30. If you don’t mind missing the parades, you get the benefit of a quiet restaurant and get to experience the park and attractions whilst the majority of Guests are at Dinner.
