Beauty and The Beast Trailer

Beauty and The Beast is my favourite Disney film. Ever.

Belle has (and always will be) my favourite Disney princess and character. When the news came out that Disney were creating a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast I was both incredibly excited and incredibly worried. Were they going to mess it up?

I didn’t enjoy Maleficient and the retelling of Sleeping Beauty (sorry everyone!) However, much to my surprise I absolutely loved Cinderella and The Jungle Book. For this reason, I have been highly anticipating the release of a Beauty and The Beast trailer. And, guess what? It is finally here!

Disney’s release of this small teaser trailer was enough to get me ridiculously excited.

So, I could barely contain myself when the actual trailer came out… and here it is. Let’s take a look:

I had goosebumps as soon as the classic Beauty and the Beast music began. There is such great detail in the set – the castle, the ballroom, the lavish gold fixtures, the portraits. Nothing about the movie (from what we have seen so far) feels cheap. The trailer immerses you in what could be taken for a real French castle.

I like the fact the Belle (Emma Watson) has an english accent. Whilst I want the live action version to keep the integrity of the animated version, hearing Emma do an American accent or a Paige O’Hara imitation wouldn’t have worked. I also really like the voices of Lumiere and Cogsworth.

I would have loved to have seen more of Belle. And, a small glimpse of the Beast would have been great too. However, Disney are doing an excellent job at building the suspense for the movie and any future trailers.

Just look at these comparisons with the original film:

The trailer has really set the feel for the movie and I am very excited. Disney, you’ve got it right!

Disney have already confirmed many of the upcoming live-action feature films. Some of these films include:

  • Alice in Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass
  • Pete’s Dragon
  • Cruella starring Emma Stone
  • Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne John Johnson
  • Dumbo which will be directed by Tim Burton (so excited for this!)
  • A Mary Poppins sequel starring Emily Blunt and… wait for it… LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA
  • Maleficent 2 (yeah, not excited for this)
  • The Jungle Book 2
  • A project involving the Tinker Bell franchise starring Reese Witherspoon
  • The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
  • A Wrinkle in Time

It’s an exciting time for Disney fans.

So, what do you think of the new trailer?
